Diet Hacks: Protein Pancakes

In the month of August I will be featuring PROTEIN HACKS. Working with ladies over the years I have discovered a common pattern among them, low protein consumption and if your protein is low your body does not have the necessary tools with which to build ample muscle in the gym. Upping protein consumption is a common issue among many- they struggle to get more in–hence the need to share yummy ways to get more protein in effortlessly and in a totally YUMMY way!!

In my last Facebook live I shared how to make the perfect Protein pancake if you like you can watch the video on Instagram on my page @pamela.fit.for.life. But as promised I am blogging with the instructions right here and you can print them out, save them or share them.

Here is a list of the ingredients you will need:

-Ironmade Nutrition (www.ironmadenutrition.com) Cinnamon Bun Pure Isolate Protein powder (use code PamelaJ for a discount)

-Xantham gum ( https://www.amazon.com/shop/influencer-e271713e )

-Pasturized egg whites

-Pam or any other non stick cooking spray

Optional:

-Cinnamon

-Walden Farms Pancake Syrup ( https://www.amazon.com/shop/influencer-e271713e )

-Walden Farms Chocolate Syrup ( https://www.amazon.com/shop/influencer-e271713e )

-I can’t believe it’s not butter

How to:

Heat your skillet on Medium then pour 2/3 cup egg whites into a large measuring cup. Add to that 1 scoop of Ironmade Cinnamon Bun Pure Isolate Protein powder and 1/8-1/4 tsp Xantham Gum to make it fluffy! Whisk those ingredients together and spray your pan with Pam then add mixture to the pan. Let cook for approximately 45 seconds (it’ll still be runny but you’ll have a “skin” on the bottom) and flip or use my technique of scraping and flipping until most is turned over. Allow to cook another 30-45 seconds and then flip again, DO NOT ALLOW THE EGG WHITES TO COOK COMPLETELY AS THEY WILL BECOME A BIT RUBBERY. Best to take your pancake off while its still on the runny/mushy side realizing it will continue to cook a little once off the burner. My pancake usually winds up looking more like an omelet but to tell you the truth, I don’t care because its so damn tasty!

Once plated, sprinkle some cinnamon on top and if you like add any and or all of the optional toppings. If I accidentally overcook I use the syrups but otherwise Ironmade Protein Powder tastes so good on its own, I usually don’t bother with anything but the extra cinnamon and ENJOY!!
